About Us

MAUREEN'S PENISTONE CAT RESCUE TO CLOSE

Since we started up Maureen's Penistone Cat Rescue, several years ago now, we have been lucky enough to have met some lovely, caring people / families. Unfortunately it is very difficult to remember all of you, but along the way we have made some very close friends.

In the years of operation we have found homes for some 788 cats and kittens, in the main this has been very rewarding but we occasionally, have had some distressing times and issues to deal with.

We have now come to a very difficult decision, one that we have pondered over for some considerable time, that with the emotional issues we have had to deal with, this year imparticular, with the worsening economic climate, affecting the number of people wanting to adopt and only being a small concern, the number of donations we have been receiving, but more importantly, with Maureen's own health issues, that it is time to close down Maureen's Penistone Cat Rescue

We wish to thank all who have adopted cats and kittens from us, but also family, friends and local businesses who have supported us along the way.

Should you have animal welfare problems, can we suggest, that locally you contact ROYSTON ANIMAL WELFARE, RSPCA or CAT PROTECTIO, all numbers can be found in the phone book and all have online websites.

Finally, we still have veterinary treatment to pay for, so donations would still be appreciated.

Best wishes to everyone.

Maureen and Richard
